Every Villager Birthday in Animal Crossing: New Horizons (2024)

There are a total of 487 villagers in the Animal Crossing franchise. 236 of these beloved characters were introduced in the first Animal Crossing game (released on GameCube for Western players). Throughout its run, the iconic Nintendo sim has created more and more characters, with eight distinctive personality archetypes and through more than 60 different species. Since Animal Crossing: New Horizons takes birthdays very seriously, all of these characters have a determined birthday date. The game will announce these important events on the bulletin board eight days before the celebration, so players don't forget about their dreamies' special occasions. Players can also memorize their favorite NPCs' birthdays, of course.

During a birthday in Animal Crossing, players can attend a small party at the celebrated villager's home. Giving them a good present will boost the relationship, and players will receive a thank-you gift in the email the next day. Birthday celebration is also an important milestone for ACNH, as it rewards players with Nook Mile Stamps. Players can also celebrate villagers' birthdays on other islands, an amazing new development for the last installment. Technically, there are birthdays almost every day in Animal Crossing, but players only need to know by heart the date of their favorite villagers.

Zodiac Signs: Capricornus and Aquarius

January might be a very cold month for those in the Northern Hemisphere, but luckily, there's still a lot to do in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. There is the New Year's Day celebration on January 1, as well as the Fishing Tourney on January 13. On top of these events, there are 34 villager birthdays, as well as birthdays from other amazing NPCs that make a cameo in New Horizons, such as Joan, Niko, Cyrus, Harriet, and Dr. Shrunk, but none of these characters have birthday celebrations.

February is an amazing month for the Northern Hemisphere as the snow finally starts to melt on February 25, and players get the beautiful grass and natural landscapes of their island again. There are a couple of birthdays for non-villagers NPC as well, characters that players meet in the Happy Home Paradise DLC. One notable birthday is that of Luna, who appears in players' dreams. She's the only character who has her birthday on February 29. There's as well, of course, Valentine's Day on February 14, and sometimes the Festivale is celebrated during this month.

Zodiac Signs: Pisces and Aries

With Spring finally here, March is an amazing month full of bugs, fishes, and colorful landscapes for those in the Northern Hemisphere. On top of many villagers' birthdays, March is also the birthday of some important NPCs, such as C.J. (March 7), Pete (March 8), and Daisy Mae (March 30). While these characters don't acknowledge their birthdays, it is a good moment to think of them, and maybe players can celebrate them in their own way. In March there's also Bunny Day, and in some cases, the Festivale.

Zodiac Signs: Aries and Taurus

April is the only month in Animal Crossing: New Horizons when there's a day without a villager's birthday, April 15. However, this day is still Gram's birthday, an amazing NPC from New Leaf. It's also the birthday of Mr. Resetti (April 6), one of the most iconic characters in the franchise. People in the Northern Hemisphere will get to see the cherry blossom trees' transformations and catch petals for DIY crafting. There's also a Finishing Tourney and Nature Day to keep players excited.

Zodiac Signs: Taurus and Gemini

May is a big month in terms of birthdays in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Not only is it the birthday of some fan-favorite characters, like Cherry or Derwin, but it's also the birthday of some of the most important non-villager characters in the franchise. Mabel, from the Able Sisters clothing store, celebrates her birthday on May 22; Gulliver, the seagull who keeps getting lost, has his birthday on May 25, and everyone's favorite capitalistic raccoon's birthday (Tom Nook) is on May 30.

On top of 34 villagers' birthdays, in June there are also Timmy and Tommy's birthdays (June 7), Phineas' (June 20), and Copper's (June 28). Other important celebrations occur this month, such as Wedding Season, Father's Day, International Children's Day, June Solstice, and one of the iconic Animal Crossing bug-offs (the latter only for players in the Northern Hemisphere).

Zodiac Signs: Cancer and Leo

July is a great month to take advantage of the great number of insects that spawn. Players get to catch rare bugs, like Dung Beetle and the spooky Tarantula. During this time of the year in ACNH, there is a Fishing Tourney and a Bug-Off (in the Northern Hemisphere). This is also the month of birthdays, such as Ketchup's and Apollo's two beloved villagers. What's more, Wilbur's birthday is on the fourth, Kapp'n's is on the twelfth, and Pascal's on the nineteenth.

Zodiac Signs: Leo and Virgo

With 38 birthdays, August is a very eventful month. There is also the Fireworks show, a fun and fantastic display of pyrotechnics. What's more, on August 23, one of Animal Crossing's favorites becomes one year older, superstar K.K. Slider. There is also the birthday of iconic characters like Harvey (August 2) and Leif (August 8).

Zodiac Signs: Virgo and Libra

September marks the arrival of one of people's favorite seasons in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, autumn (in the Northern Hemisphere). With it, comes another Bug-Off, but more importantly, the Harvest Moon Festival, a magical occasion that includes several Asian traditions. A very popular character, Marshal, also celebrates his birthday in November. Other notable birthdays among the non-villager NPCs include Celeste's (on September 7) and Blathers' (on September 24).

Zodiac Signs: Libra and Scorpius

The spookiest month of the year also brings the most quantity of birthdays in Animal Crossing, with 40 special dates for the villagers. This month is, of course, also the Halloween celebration, with Jack making a fun appearance. Players should also visit Brewster at The Roost on October 15 to wish him a happy birthday.

Zodiac Signs: Scorpius and Sagittarius

Almost at the end of the year, November is the perfect month to forage mushrooms and maple leaves to create lots of fall-themed decorations. In the Northern Hemisphere, it also marks the beginning of winter, and players might get some snowfall at the end of the month. There's also the Harvest Festival/Turkey Day celebration.

Zodiac Signs: Sagittarius and Capricornus

It doesn't get more magical in ACNH than during the holiday season. With lots of seasonal decorations and amazing Toy Day dynamics and even a New Year's Day countdown, the last month of the year is a pretty entertaining time on the players' islands. Celebrating some of people's favorite villagers' birthdays is just the cherry on top of an amazing season.
