Good to see manufacturer/retailer Ikea getting involved in providing a partial solution to unwanted old furniture.

In architecture this is known as adaptive reuse. Take on old building that is no longer useful in its previous form, revamp and modernise it for new uses and new life. Given the massive embedded carbon in all that steel and concrete, it is also an environmentally friendly approach.

An innovative and potentially cost effective method of 3d printing homes in remote locations. While may not suit most Western needs, for those for whom this would be an improvement, this could be a real solution.

While EV are definitely better for the environment, they do have some nasty impacts. Lithium mining is probably the biggest. The solution is not to give up on lithium, but to improve extraction, refining and other parts of the process.Stanford have developed a process that could significantly improve environmental outcomes by drastically reducing the energy required for extraction, by using less water and by opening up more sources of lithium. It should also massively reduce the cost of Lithium extraction, making it much more financially viable as well.Of course taking research to market takes time, money and often fails in commercialisation, but there is hope that this, and other recent developments in lithium extraction, mining and processing, could reduce the environmental impact of lithium mining.https://lnkd.in/gkvC7Mma

an example of why hydrogen as an energy storage method makes no sense.and this is just the loss of energy, not the cost of all the massive machinery and staff needed for turning excess renewables into hydrogen and then back to electricity.Ask yourself, if you are footing the bill which would you invest in.

A better option for regional Australia (and government)‽long way to prove itself but if makes financial sense could help to improve remote regional areas access to high speed internet. The ability to look for and spot fires early would also be a massive capability.

This should scare China in its thoughts to invade Taiwan. Relatively cheap sea and air drones already pose a major threat to anyone thinking of a seabourne attack or even attempting to block sea lanes. Bombs like this, particularly if connected to stealthy loyal wingman drones, add to the high probability of being hit. Even if the price seems high, remember a warship cost from $100m plus and many are over US$ 1Billion.

Go anti-woke go broke?Data to go with the perception that, at least in Australia, perception of Musk is hurting Tesla sales in Australia. He is probably 50% of the reason I would never consider a Tesla (sparse interior the other 50%).If this data is replicated elsewhere, will anyone at Tesla be brave enough to be honest or will it be an Emperor's new clothes situation? https://lnkd.in/gSMQ-TWt
